Sharing a Pissy Post from My Facebook...

A Pissy Post -

I hate lies.

Today I had a friendly acquaintance insist that Mitt Romney won the popular vote in 2012, so of course I gave him five million corrections, and I don't think his eyes could even see the election results on the computer screen. The truly bothersome thing is that there are little groups of people out there that actually believe this and talk about it, something that isn't even real...

Then I found out that over on Fox News (Dear God), "Judicial expert" Judge Andrew Napolitano states empirically that the ACA covers abortion and euthanasia. I know, lies on Fox, I should & do know better, but here again I'm bothered just knowing that a whole bunch of people are out there believing this and talking about something that isn't even real...

I hate lies.

Part of hating lies as much as I do is admitting when you are wrong, and, about the "Death Panels" I was wrong. The truth is that there are "Death Panels" as a by-product of the ACA. The Death Panels are located in every Republican led state, most with majority Republican legislatures that refused to accept Medicaid expansion. In these states 17,000 people will die this year, from an avoidable sentence handed down from the Republican Death Panels...

Please, my dears, do remember that Republicans are pro-life..!!!

I hate lies.

Happy Spring..! Now Get Your Ass in Gear...

It has been a long Winter and Spring is finally here, so now it's time to get busy again.  I need to get my Sugar Snap Peas in the ground and the rest of the garden tilled & bedded.  My Rhubarb is showing green and I really need to weed the Strawberry patch soon. Unless, I get it together and do something like this:

I've been toying with this idea since coming to the Blue Ridge, and have gardened like this before, but never with Strawberries. Here some Miss Smartie-pants has planted them in re-purposed rain gutters, but I have access to a plethora of #10 cans from the diner, which I would attach to the fence where they'd get a ton of sun.   More importantly, I am getting a little too old to get on my knees for fruits, so I'm thinking that this is the way to go...

Speaking of fruits, Spring always makes me think of Doris Day, so of course, I'm posting a photograph of Rock Hudson:

Thirty-Two Years Ago Today...

I went dancing at JB's Down in Kent, Ohio, there was going to be three of my favorite bands playing all in one night.  Groovy...  I also remember that there were quite a few people there that didn't quite "get" the scene and that there was some filming going on. I remember thinking "I'll never see any of that".  Well I was wrong...

A couple of weeks ago I googled a photograph (of something totally unrelated), when something caught my eye. I followed the links and found an article in which some old friends telling stories about the punk movement in the Cleveland-Akron-Kent area of Ohio in the seventies and early eighties. It was a nice read and reminded me of some great times.  At the end of the article there was a link to this film, provided for those that wanted a little taste of what the scene was like back then.  I just knew that there would be film of my friends and likely of me in it, and there is.  I'm surprised at how many names I remember.
Anyway, in the first two songs there are glimpses of me here & there, but then in the third song I am right there, front and center, dancing for most of the song..!

Don't feel obligated to watch unless you were into the new music movement; punk, new wave scene. Or, unless you want to see how adorable I was when I was nineteen (good thing I didn't know it at the time or I'd be dead by now)..!

(Also you can easily see Tracy Wormworth dancing in the crowd and I think you see Jim Jarmusch's back, though I can't be sure).

To Blog or Not To Blog......

After much thought I have decided that I will continue to blog, though there will be some changes.

As you can see I am hard at work deciding in which direction to go with it :

As soon as I have finished the decision making process I will return and post with more regularity.

Until then you can find me at my tumblr - Drifting Over the Ether, or on facebook.
